We believe our policies are incredibly important in maintaining a happy, balanced dog and creating a long-lasting bond between human and dog. Everything we do is in the best interest of our four-legged friends, which is why we follow the below rules:

TRAINING METHOD – Training is a big part of adopting a dog. We ONLY recommend positive reinforcement training, which works towards setting your dog up for success and then rewarding good behavior only. You should never scold, hit or punish your dog in any way when he is displaying undesirable behaviors. Positive reinforcement methods can successfully address common behavior issues in dogs.

TRAINING DEVICES – We do not believe in using choker chains, shock collars, anti-bark collars and other various “training” collars (most of which are banned in other countries). These so-called training devices punish a dog for his behavior, are ineffective, cause pain and distress and can cause further behavioral or health issues down the track. But most importantly, they do not address underlying issues and they do not help us build a trusting relationship with our dog.

OUTSIDE DOGS – We have a strict policy when it comes to owners who are looking for an outside-only dog. No dog deserves to spend all his/her life outdoors in a yard. All of our dogs should be treated as family members!
